Robin Carton, Principal
Robin Carton has a background in progressive philanthropy, grassroots political organizing and law. For 18 years she was the Director of Grantmaking and Finance at RESIST, a social justice foundation supporting grassroots activism. During that time Robin provided technical assistance to social change organizations nationwide on capacity building, organizational development, financial management, grant writing and compliance with regulatory issues.
She also leveraged new funding for current and former grantees from larger foundations, awarded over 2,500 grants and drafted both direct mail and on-line donor appeals. Prior to her time at RESIST, Robin was a plaintiff side employment lawyer and spent ten years in child care, both teaching and working to develop the capacity of child care providers.
